Some of the techniques involved are drawing and painting often augmented by hand-fashioned stencils, offset and viscosity methods of applying textures. Because I am drawn to sequencing that can yield an intriguing narrative, the printing plate is often not cleaned before the next one is inked. Consequently, the subsequent print will reveal a slight remnant–or ghost–of the former image.

In this way, monotype printmaking mirrors human experience; layers of experience carried forth in sequential expression, bringing our past into our future, with intention, accumulation, hope and serendipity.
